BOLD 1,000 Challege… Accepted

At Keller Williams Realty, we have a seven week program called BOLD, Business Objective: Life by Design. Over seven weeks, BOLD conditions agents with powerful mindset exercises, language techniques, business-building strategies and live lead generation activities. One of the lead generation activities that many agents strive for is called the “BOLD 100”. This is when a single agent meets 100 new people in one day. This is a very difficult task to accomplish, and many agents fall short of the goal. One of the Seven BOLD Laws is “Success is simple… not easy“. Tim Ramos, real estate agent at Keller Williams Lake Nona was ready for success in a big way, and he was prepared to take the challenge!


Tim Ramos started with a single question… “Has anyone done 1,000 contacts in one day?” His Team Leader, Rich Carpentieri, did not have the answer, so he went to the BOLD instructor, John Prescott. When the question was posed to John Prescott, the answer was “No, why do you ask?” Rich immediately brought Tim to the front of the room of 115 attendees, and stated, “My agent, Tim Ramos is going to get 1,000 contacts in one day”.


The heat was on, and Tim now how to think up a way to get 1,000 contacts in one day. His first thought, as he lives in Orlando, FL was to stand at the gates to Walt Disney World and work his magic. When the logistics of the security at Walt Disney World prevented him from achieving his first goal, he quickly came up with a second. According to state records, there are 249,562 people who live in Orlando, why couldn’t he meet them where they live, work, and shop? So he prepared to hit the pavement and start handing out his business cards.


He ordered 1,000 business cards and separated them into stacks of 100, thus making his goal seem more attainable and less overwhelming. With the support of family and friends, he got up at 4:15am, sat in his home office and looked at his dream board. (A board that he has on his wall that represents all of his personal and business goals). He listened to the same motivational speech that he listens to every day; “Pain is Temporary” by Eric Thomas. in BOLD, he is taught that the right mindset can allow you to achieve anything you set out to accomplish. This was the biggest feat he had ever attempted and he was ready for success!


He started at local shops like Home Depot, Publix (the local grocery chain) and Walmart. After lunch, he stopped by The Florida Mall. With more than 20 million visitors per year, The Florida Mall is the largest shopping mall in Central Florida. If he was going to meet people, this was the best bet. After a grueling day, he had 30 business cards left. Not one for failure, he headed to a well known spot called “The Loop”, one of the biggest strip malls in the immediate attractions district. At 7:30pm, he handed out his last card.


It had taken him 12 hours, but he had done it, he had met the BOLD 1,000 Challenge head on, and came out victorious! During his one day of lead generation, he received 1 commercial lead, 3 buyer leads and 1 multi-property investor lead. In the 24 hours since, his phone has been ringing non-stop.
